Shaped by Hand,
Guided by Time.
I am a ceramic artist based in Muğla, working primarily on the wheel.
My practice is rooted in a slow, hands-on process, where each piece is shaped individually and guided by simplicity and balance.
I create objects meant to be used — pieces that become part of everyday rituals, carrying natural textures and quiet variations.

The Material
Clay, in its most natural form.
I work with materials that reveal their character through texture, weight, and surface — allowing each piece to carry a quiet, organic presence. Raw and glazed surfaces exist together, creating a balance between touch, function, and form.
Studio Values
Slow Craft
Made slowly, by hand. Nothing is rushed.
Functional Form
Designed to be used. Balanced in the hand, part of everyday rituals.
Material Honesty
The material speaks for itself. Texture, surface, and form remain true.
Common Questions
What materials does DG Ceramic Studio use?
All pieces are made from high-fire grogged stoneware clay. Glazes are applied by hand and fired at high temperatures — producing durable, food-safe surfaces with natural variation in tone and texture.
Are DG Ceramic pieces dishwasher safe?
Yes. All pieces are high-temperature fired and food-safe. Hand washing is recommended to preserve the glaze finish over time, but they are dishwasher safe.
How long does it take to make a ceramic piece?
Each piece goes through multiple stages: throwing on the wheel, drying, trimming, bisque firing, glazing, and a final high-temperature firing. From start to finish, a single piece takes approximately two to three weeks.
Can I commission a custom ceramic piece from DG Ceramic Studio?
Custom commissions are taken on a limited basis. Each commission is discussed individually to agree on form, glaze, and timeline. Contact the studio via email at dilangurcam@gmail.com to enquire.
